ZAMAG Tours and Safaris – Agricultural Tour Operators and Ground Handlers

Botswana is a land-locked country in Southern Africa just a little larger than France. There are two major features that stand out in the North of the country: the vast inland delta of the Okavango River and the enormous saltpans at the heart of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Visitors have the opportunity to experience game safaris across a wide and diverse range of National Parks. Some of these include:

Chobe National Park which has the most varied wildlife of all of Botswana's parks with one of the highest populations of Elephant to be found here. The wide Chobe River is the lifeblood of the area and feeds adjacent flood plains.

Moremi Game Reserve is described as one of the most beautiful wildlife reserves in Africa. It combines mopane woodland and acacia forests, floodplains and lagoons. It is one of the few places where you may be lucky to see a Red Lechwe antelope, but there are also many other animals such as elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, hyenas and rhinos as well as a diverse range of birdlife.

Okavango Delta is home to an abundance of wildlife including crocodile, hippo, water bucks and various fish species which can be seen from safari vehicles and boats. The delta waters meet the sands of the Kalahari desert making the whole area very beautiful and scenic which is why it is referred to as the 'Jewel of the Kalahari'.

Central Kalahari is home to a wide variety of antelopes including eland, gemsbok, kudu, red hartebeest and springbok and also has a number of wildebeest, giraffe, lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog and brown hyena. The majority of the park is flat, vast open plains.

Makgadikgadi Pans  is part of the Kalahari basin and has some of the largest saltpans in the world. After the rains the pans transform from a dry crust to a grassy plain that attracts many animals including large flocks of pelican and flamingo

The Linyanti Swamp system, created by a big bend in the Linyanti River, attracts large herds of animals, especially elephant.

Most camps and lodges are situated on large dry areas whilst others have access to wet areas such as the Okavango Delta where visitors can partake in mokoro excursions. Botswana offers a fantastic safari experience with a wide range of wildlife on offer .
