Waterberry Lodge

Waterberry Lodge

Waterberry Lodge is situated 35 minutes from Livingstone in a lovely, secluded position on the banks of the spectacular Zambezi River with views to the Zambezi National Park on the opposite bank.   This small, friendly, informal lodge is famous for its staff, food, gardens and tranquil riverbank setting.

The main double-storey lodge building overlooks the Zambezi and the game park on the opposite bank.  Upstairs the main lounge is open to the thatch with comfortable seating, magnificent views, books, an unusual collection of old African maps and some excellent paintings by local artists.

Meals are served on the ground floor. Wifi is free of charge and mobile phone signals are generally more reliable than the land line.

Waterberry’s seven cottages are set around sweeping gardens and lawns – some on the riverbank, some overlooking the private lake with its beautiful birdlife. The double, twin or family en-suite bedrooms are open to the high thatch (nice and cool in the hot sun), with mosquito nets, overhead fans and air conditioning.  Bathrooms have bath robes, toiletries and hair dryers and baskets for free laundry service.

Every room has a terrace with lounging furniture for sunbathing, birdwatching, private dinners or just relaxing……ideal for recovering from a long flight, or after the rigors of early morning and late night safari drives.

The swimming pool, large enough for a good swim, has a small plunge pool at one end – safe for children – with tables, chairs and sun loungers.

Guests are welcome to walk the marked paths, take guided birding walks or just sit and relax at the pool or on the lawns, pontoons and platforms around the grounds.
