Located on the southern tip of Chief’s Island, Sanctuary Retreats Stanley’s Camp borders the southern section of the Moremi Game Reserve. This private community concession is located by definition in a seasonal delta and the floodwaters usually arrive around June. The area is home to a wide variety of big game including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog.
The camp has its own registered private airstrip which is located approximately 20 minutes from the camp. The camp is accessible by air from Maun (15 minutes), Kasane (1 hour 30 minutes) and all other delta camps.
Sanctuary Retreats Stanley’s Camp consists of eight classic en-suite safari tents on raised wooden decking. Each unit is set in an amphitheatre of ebony trees on the southern tip of Chief’s Island. The main building offers expansive views over the surrounding floodplains.
Activities include morning and afternoon game drives, mokoro trips, walking safaris and elephant interaction.
