Little Gorges Lodge is perched on the edge of the Batoka Gorge, 10kms downstream from Victoria Falls next to the main Gorges Lodge. This tented extension of Gorges overlooks the dramatic junction of the Dibu Dibu River and the Zambezi, where black eagles and lanner falcons nest in the sheer cliff faces. Construction of the luxury tents in this rugged, rocky and broken terrain necessitated careful planning and feats of engineering and is a wonderful alternative to the main Gorges chalets while still providing all the same comforts.
Little Gorges main lodge is stone under thatch with dining room, lounge area and bar, all with views over the spectacular Dibu Dibu Gorge. All guests staying at Little Gorges can make use of the facilities at main Gorges including the swimming pool and WiFi. There is also cell phone reception.
Accommodation consists of 4 x twin tents and 1 x double tent on raised timber and steel platforms. Each tent has a veranda with dramatic views over the gorge, brick under canvas en suite bathroom with shower, double basins and toilet. Mains electricity with backup generator.
Activities include a guided tour of the Victoria Falls, a guided tour of the craft village, visit to the local village, school tour, evening traditional dancing display, gorge-edge walk with sundowners and snacks, black eagle viewing with sundowners and snacks and a sundowner cruise.
