Mana Pools is one of the most stunning National Parks in Africa. Named a World Heritage Site, the park is situated along the majestic Zambezi River.
Mana means “four”in Shona, in reference to the four large permanent pools formed by the meandering of the river over the years. The park consists of river frontage, large flood plains, islands, sandbanks and pools, flanked by forests of mahogany, wild figs, acacias, ebonies and baobabs. Abundant wildlife and birdlife, together with spectacular views over the river, onto the mountains of the Rift Valley escarpment of Zambia, make this undeveloped park a favourite with visitors.
Elephants bathing in the pools is one of the must-see sites in this fabulous park.
