Meerkat Camp Kalahari

Camp Kalahari is nestled amongst the acacias and mokolwane palms of Brown Hyena Island, on the edge of Botswana’s beautiful Makgadikgadi Salt Pans.  The camp is open all year round.  Wildlife in the surrounding savannah include brown hyena, bat-eared foxes, meerkat, elephant and during the green season, large numbers of zebra and wildebeest.

The camp consists of 12 Meru style tents – 6 twins, 4 doubles and 2 family tents.  All have en-suite bathrooms with indoor showers and 4 poster beds. Camp Kalahari has a comfortable yet traditional feel to it and guests can relax in a traditionally built thatch library, living and dining are.  There is also a swimming pool where one can cool off after a day out taking part in activities.

There is no Wi-Fi in the camp and the camp can accommodate a maximum of 28 guests

Activities on offer include an opportunity to meet the habituated meerkats, walks with the Zu/’hoasi Bushmen, Game drives, search for the elusive brown hyena, a visit to the site of the Chapman’s Baobab, helicopter flips, morning and afternoon horse rides.  In the green season you will have the opportunity to witness the zebra and wildebeest migration, the second largest in Africa.
