Vumbura Plains is situated in the northern Okavango Delta, comprising two separate satellite camps, each with its own raised dining, lounge and bar area with breathtaking views of the floodplains. The main area emphasises relaxation and is furnished with soft sofas. A fire pit is built into the deck, making for a fantastic place to keep warm at night and enjoy a drink. The pool is great for unwinding between meals and activities.
The 14 rooms, which are raised off the ground, are unique in contemporary design; the dimensions are square, with extensive use of light, wood and space. Each suite has a large, comfortable bedroom, sunken lounge with cushions, sala, en-suite facilities, an outdoor shower, private deck and plunge pool. Two family suites are also on offer with private decks linking the two separate rooms.
Vumbura Plains offers both land and water activities, principally game viewing in varied habitats on open vehicles, mokoro and boats, providing an excellent all-round experience. Sightings of elephants are common along with zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, lion, wild dogs and a particularly large range of antelope. The birds are equally varied, ranging from pink pelicans to red-billed hornbills.
