Somalisa Acacia is situated alongside the famous Somalisa Camp, known as ‘the home of the elephants’. It is located in the Hwange National Park on a private concession and has its own private views of a small waterhole which is often frequented by large herds of elephant, buffalo, kudu and zebra. Giraffe also frequent this waterhole as well as lion.
The camp only caters for 8 people and has simple tents all slightly raised on decks under a canopy of Acacia trees. Each tent has en suite bathrooms.
There is a small splash pool at the front of the camp which allows guests to cool off on a hot day. The main area has a library, lounge area, dining table and a day bed which overlooks the pan. Activities on offer are game drives and walking excursions with the camp’s professional guides. Most of the activities are in the Somalisa private concession but with easy access to other parts of Hwange National Park.
